What sets me apart from other Realtors?

What sets me apart from other Realtors? This is a question that I have been asked for many years.  My goal when working with my clients is setting their needs and wants first.  It’s never about me but them.  I always want to make their buying and/or selling experience easier.  I have achieved this through several different and creative ways.

I think it is important to manage expectations, from our very first meeting I tell them what they can expect from me and what I will expect from them. I think it is so important to be clear and honest with our working relationship so to hopefully prevent any misunderstandings later on down the road.

Next is to explain the process of buying and selling real estate. Real Estate is sometimes the biggest investment an individual or couple makes in their lifetime so it’s important that they are aware of what that means. I do this every day but they don’t, so it’s important for me to ask questions and make sure they understand what I’m talking about and I need to understand their motivation.

Communication is key to keeping my clients stay “in the loop” so they know what is going on during the different stages of the process. Following up quickly whether its emails, texts or calls. I always like to establish a reasonable time period to do this with each client, some like a response immediately and others want me to contact them once a day or once every couple of days.

I have been blessed with a multitude of talents.  With my background in Interior Design, I am excellent at helping my listing clients stage their homes if needed and helping my buying clients visualize how a space might be transformed to their taste. Again, it’s about putting my client’s needs first.

More about how this can help my clients.  First, my listing clients - staging a property simply makes it more appealing than other homes on the market, they “STAND OUT” in a prospective buyer’s minds, they look better in print and Internet ads, they receive more foot traffic, typically sell for more money, end up on a buyer’s “must see” list, are viewed by buyers as “well maintained”, appear to be “move-in” ready, have less reasons for buyers to ask for concessions and statistically spend 73% less time on the market.

Second, my buying clients – have you ever walked into a room and wondered “how in the world will I arrange my furniture in this space?” I can help by suggesting different strategies and layouts to get the most use out of the space not only functionally but aesthetically.  After working in the design field for many years I am confident that I can help them with any need they might have for the interior and exterior spaces in their new home, so we can make it uniquely theirs.

Best of all, choosing me as their Realtor – this design service is included and is completely FREE to all of my clients.

On top of all of this I have a hard work ethic, I’m optimistic, I have one of those minds that thinks “outside the box”, I’m an excellent negotiator and I’m a lover of people.

I think these aspects of my personality and experience sets me apart from our Realtors!

Fall into Fall - 5 ways to get your home ready for Fall

Pumpkins, cozy sweaters, and falling leaves. Fall is almost here (the first official day is September 22nd), but you still have time to prepare for the new season in a big way.

1. Clean your gutters: Hire someone to clean out you clogged gutters or do it yourself. Watch Lowe’s video and read their article to learn how to clean your gutters.

2. Fix any drafts: Check your windows and doors for any drafts. Hire someone to fix any problems or fix it yourself. This Old House has tips for fixing drafts without breaking a budget.

3. Buy a rake or leaf blower: Have all the necessary leaf removal tools on hand before the leaves start to fall. Get ready to jump into piles of leaves!

4. Clean the fireplace: Have the fireplace inspected to make sure it’s safe to use when the temperature starts to drop.

Now that you’re done, sit back, relax, and enjoy a hot cup of tea and your favorite pumpkin flavored pastry.
